MoS’s mission is to provide an avenue for Colorado and Wyoming older adults to experience life riding in nature and outside the confines of their older adult facilities by being a passenger on a trishaw piloted by our trained cyclists. It is our goal to have enough trishaws located around the state that by 2027, that trishaws will be used to provide at least 10,000 rides that year and ever more each year following.
We strive to build bridges between generations and reinforce trust and respect by providing older adults in Colorado and Wyoming the opportunity to remain active and reduce their sense of isolation. We share happy memories, and our passengers enjoy the feeling of freedom, adventure, and hope.
In 2022, more than 4,200 no-cost trishaw experiences were provided in Colorado and Wyoming. We are working toward having more than 10,000 trishaw rides provided in 2027!
That's a lot of miles of smiles, miles of memories and special moments that are precious and never forgotten.
We currently provide trishaw experiences at independent, assisted living, and memory care facilities in Boulder, Lafayette, Loveland, and Durango, CO; Cheyenne and Laramie, WY; amd Albuquerque, NM.
Think of the positive change we can make working together in your community!
Donations, grants and business partners support our trishaw program.
We are an energized 100% volunteer organization.
We never charge the teaming facilities or our passengers.
No tips accepted, ever.
You make a difference!
WORKING CLOSELY WITH ASSISTED LIVING AND OTHER FACILITES FOR OLDER ADULTS, WE OFFER THE RESIDENTS RIDES ON SPECIALLY-BUILT TRISHAWS TO FEEL LIFE OUTSIDE THE CONFINES OF THEIR FACILITY
Miles of Smiles Colorado Inc. ("MoS") was founded in 2019 and was focused on organizing and implementing no-cost trishaw rides for the residents of older adult congregated living facilities.
While continuing to offer rides in Boulder County communities, we recently expanded to Fort Collins and Durango, CO, Cheyenne and Laramie, WY, and Albuquerque, NM and have broadened our activities to include actively encouraging other older adult communities throughout the region to say 'YES' so they too can offer no cost trishaw experiences to their residents.
We have recently received approval for a grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for funds under the CMP program to significantly underwrite the acquisition cost of trishaws and related accessories and tools at four nursing homes.
With these funds, nursing homes in Colorado can overcome the initial high cost of these specially-built vehicles and offer rides in nature to their residents. MoS will work closely with each nursing home to implement and execute a safe, secure, reliable trishaw ride program.
MoS continues to file grant applications with other organizations as well to fund the acquisition cost of trishaws and related accessories and tools at other older adult communities that may not qualify for CMP funding.

We are pleased to share that we provided more than 1000 rides this year to older adult communities in Colorado and Wyoming. These wonderful people experienced the outdoors, moving on the trishaw and seeing new faces, birds, and lots of wildlife. That is a lot of sunshine and miles of smiles among our passengers, cyclists, and all the people we met along the pathways!
Thank you volunteers and donors for making this happen!
We are dedicated to improving the lives of seniors and others with limited mobility in our community. Your contribution today helps us Make a Difference.
